“One 2oz double espresso has about 80 milligrams of caffeine. Whereas a 12 oz brewed drip coffee has about 120 milligrams. So actually there is more caffeine in an average cup of drip coffee than in espresso.”-

It depends on how much espresso you drink in the morning. Who drinks only 2 oz. of espresso? Not me. Keep looking and another source will say 60mg in 1 shot or 120 in 2 oz. Another will say 63 oz. in one shot. Another will say 40mg in 1oz. in one shot.
I just measured my small coffee cups and they hold 8oz. That is 320 mg of espresso caffeine, far more than a 12oz cup of drip which is only 120mg. The internet is very misleading on this subject. I’m pretty sure a shot glass is literally 1oz so that’s tiny.
I was drinking 16oz of espresso daily or 640mg per day. Adults are not supposed to exceed 700mg per day but it was bc I would then go to Starbucks.
How long does caffeine stay in your system after you get on the wagon?
“The level of caffeine in your blood peaks about one hour later and stays at this level for several hours for most people. Six hours after caffeine is consumed, half of it is still in your body. It can take up to 10 hours to completely clear caffeine from your bloodstream.” Dec 23, 2020
I’m pretty sure it’s gone from me now. I drink 100 oz. of water daily and I am still sleepy and feeling bored unless I’m writing or working out. Now what?
Ah, addiction. I feel extremely anti-social. It appears to me that extroversion is about either overdoing it on sugar, food, caffeine, alcohol, or tobacco and remaining numb to yourself. I’m never, ever, numb to myself and it makes them uncomfortable to be around my introverted self. Ok. I do have plenty of patients looking for sober guidance, at least they act as if they do. I have that in spades.
